Tour Post - Day Four - The Amgen People's Coast Classic

Wednesday, September 14 – Yachats to North Bend

We are getting closer to Brookings, Oregon our ultimate destination with every day, but no one wants it to end, sure we may be a bit tired and there are a few aches and pains but the great friends being made, the incredible scenery and the interesting stops along the way push that all out of our minds and of course knowing the impact we are having on the fight against arthritis makes it all worthwhile.

Day Four of The Amgen People’s Coast Classic clocked in at around 73 miles and took us down the majestic coastline out of Yachats. The fog burned off early in the morning and the views from the many vantage points were absolutely spectacular, everyone agrees that a sunny day in Oregon is really hard to beat.

The big attraction along the route, besides the coastline, was the Sea Lion Caves , a very unique local attraction.

Along the way we also received a royal welcome in Reedsport, it goes without saying that the towns along the route are beginning to embrace TAPCC and we expect that each year the towns will help us spread the word on the Arthritis Foundations cause and the ride itself.

There was also the daily tricks being played by the riders and unlike past days it seems that the Lucy (the dog) got in on the act and somehow managed to get a bike up on top of the shower truck! Riders beware it seems as if going to take a shower might leave you open to some strange events :)

The riders, support team and volunteers arrived in North Bend for dinner and their overnight stay, looking forward to Day Five tomorrow North Bend to Arizona Beach.
