Those of you returning from last year will not have forgotten Jeff Bass. He's our perennial top fundraiser/donor, a national board member of AF, and Director of Global Government Affairs at Amgen. Here's a special message from our "Major Dude" of fundraising:Hi TAPCC riders!
We have ~30 days to go until we begin our adventure down the Oregon Coast. That is 30 days in which we can double or triple our fundraising!!
PLEASE remember that it is the money you raise that allows the Arthritis Foundation to:
* Put on Kids Camp for kids with arthritis (at NO cost to the campers)
* Sponsor research so we can end the crippling and death caused by these diseases
* Advocate for more arthritis funding and government sponsored research
* Train more rheumatologists to care for those with arthritis
So ... Please send MORE emails, cards, letters, texts and tweets to boost our fundraising for the AF! I find these three guidelines helpful:
1. Contact EVERYONE you know. EVERYONE!!! If you have a business card, an email address or a phone number, CONTACT THEM! Or go find them at their home or office. Contact EVERYONE you know.
2. Reach out to every single contact THREE times, until they donate.
3. Tell them WHY you are asking (see above). I am asking because I have osteoarthritis and it hurts. And because my mother in law DIED of rheumatoid arthritis and I want the research to find a cure before I lose other relatives to this disease.
Send 20 emails or letters EVERY DAY. You can do it. I am sending over 100 emails a day until September 10! That's 3,000. You can do the same.
Let's GO on fundraising together!!!
