We made it!, 374 miles, "6 Days of Cycling to end a Lifetime of Pain"
Well it doesn’t seem like that long ago we all started off in Astoria. All the riders were decked out
in their Amgen People’s Coast Classic gear and looking good and of course there was this great caravan of support vehicles (equipment truck, shower truck, Newport Bike’s support trailer etc.) and support people; DuVine Adventures, Arthritis Foundation staff and some great individual volunteers. We were quite a sight pulling out of Astoria and we were quite a sight crossing the finish line in Brookings as well.
Day Six was a relatively short ride of 45 miles along the Old Coast Road and over the Rogue River bridge into the town of Gold Beach. From there we headed south to Brookings and the finish line where the celebration began.
As always it is tough to say goodbye to friends both old and new but in the end we packed ourselves up and into the motorcoach and headed back north where some people flew home and some people drove home with great memories of the 2011 Amgen People’s Coast Classic and the thought of next year’s event, which will be here before we know it.Thanks to our Sponsors!
